Sutureless Ocular Surface Reconstruction Using

This course will focus on amniotic membrane transplantation, used as a temporary graft with or without sutures (in a new device called Prokera) and as a permanent graft with or without sutures (using fibrin glue). This is a newly approved surgical procedure for ocular surface reconstruction in many corneal and external diseases. Attendees will learn the most up-to-date information on the indications for and limitations of amniotic membrane transplantation, and will have been introduced to the techniques through a video demonstration of the surgical procedure designed to be incorporated into a general or subspecialty ophthalmic practice. |

This course will cover the latest clinical applications for the new, high-speed,
high-resolution Fourier-Domain OCT. Main applications discussed will be for retina pathologies, glaucoma, anterior segment, and Doppler blood-flow. The course will cover unique 3-D imaging for retina and glaucoma, image registration for progression, volumetric analysis, the normative database, direct ganglion cell analysis, and more. New applications for the anterior segment, including cornea power calculations, will be covered in detail. An introduction in the exciting new Doppler blood-flow analysis will also be given. Numerous patient cases will be used to illustrate key points. |
Fluoroquinolone Update: Pharmacodynamics, Penetration, and Persistence
Panelists will review and provide clinical context for results of several new clinical studies evaluating fluroquinolone tear and intracameral concentrations over time. Results of most recent nationwide survey of antimicrobial susceptibility will also be discussed. |
